For over a century, we’ve crafted Shikkui plaster – a timeless material gracing Japanese castles. Made from lime, seaweed, and plant fibers, it’s a harmony of nature and tradition. Shikkui is widely used in Japanese home as wall and floor material.

The bamboo partition “Sudare” is a traditional Japanese partition made of bamboo. It allows wind and light to pass through moderately and blocks line of sight moderately. Shikada Sangyo produces Sudare as indoor furnishings using locally grown natural bamboo material. While respecting the “room manners” unique to Japan for entertaining guests, we propose new spaces that transcend the boundaries of traditional craftmanship.
